  • 2017 – Freemasons Hall

    Possibly one of our best visits. Freemasons Hall. What an amazing venue. After we had a walk round Covent Garden and ate at the Flat Iron restaurant. We had to finish the evening with a drink in the Freemasons Arms.

  • 2016 – The Welcome Collection

    The day started with the usual meet-up in St Katherine’s Dock. This year we visited the Welcome Collection, a free museum and library exploring health and human experience. For our evening meal we visited a Wahaca Mexican Restaurant.

  • 2015 – The London Dungeon

    2015 saw us visit the London Dungeon.

  • 2014 – Imperial War Museum

    On our walk from St Kathrines Dock we saw the Poppies at the Tower of London, displayed to commemorate 100 years since the start of the great war. They were made from clay and after the display the poppies were sold to anyone who wanted one. We then got a Bus to Lambeth and the Imperial War Museum.

  • 2013 – Ripleys Museum

    Ripleys ‘Believe it or not’ Museum.

  • 2012 – Emirates Cable Car & Cutty Sark

    After meeting at St Kathrines Dock, we moved on to catch the Cable Car across the Thames to Greenwich and the Cutty Sark. A walk back under the thames followed.

  • 2011 – Meantime Brewery

    After meeting at the Dickens Inn, we got the Thames shuttle down to Greenwich. Here we sampled a few beers at the Old Brewery before walking to the Meantime Brewery where we learned a lot about making and tasting beer.

  • 2010 – Hyde Park

    We met at our usual starting venue at the Dickens Inn. Our venue this year was Hyde Park. The journey to Hyde Park was via the river Thames on a river cruise. Breaking tradition, our evening meal was at The Grenadier in Wilton Row.

  • 2009 – Monument & Clink Museum

    After meeting at The Dickens Inn, our first visit was to the Monument where we climbed the xxx steps to the top. The monument commemorates the Great Fire of 1666. Then we visited the Clink Prison Museum followed by a walk past the Golden Hind on our way to Borough Market. Finally back to Brick Lane.

  • 2008 – The Rose Theatre

    The original Rose Playhouse was built in 1587 and was the first on the Bankside. The Museum shows the remains discovered in 1989 preserved for future visitors.
